Economic Access Support Application

Before You Apply

The IAESDP Interim ESD Participant Access Awards Program helps reduce financial barriers to eligible Empowerment Self Defense education.

Participant Access Awards are limited, participant-directed scholarships. You select the educational opportunity you wish to attend. IAESDP does not select, recommend, approve, accredit, sponsor, or endorse any particular provider, instructor, certificate, certification, curriculum, or educational pathway.

How awards are issued

  • Complete and eligible applications are considered on a first-completed, first-served basis while the publicly announced quarterly allocation remains available.
  • IAESDP membership is not required and does not provide preference.
  • Applications are reviewed for administrative eligibility, completeness, available funds, conflicts of interest, and duplicate funding. Applicants are not ranked by merit, professional status, personal relationships, or hardship narrative.
  • Approved funds are ordinarily paid directly to the participant’s selected provider and applied only to the named participant’s approved expense.
  • An award does not guarantee admission, course completion, certification, credentialing, employment, or any other outcome.
  • Awards cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash, or used to pay IAESDP membership, credentialing, accreditation, application, or renewal fees.

Applicant responsibilities

By submitting this application, you confirm that:

  • cost presents a meaningful barrier to your participation;
  • the information you provide is accurate and complete;
  • you have disclosed other confirmed funding for the same expense;
  • you will notify IAESDP of cancellations, refunds, duplicate funding, or material changes; and
  • you understand that approval is subject to the published eligibility requirements and available quarterly funds.

Applicants may request accessibility assistance. A simple appeal process is available when an applicant believes IAESDP made a factual or procedural error, incorrectly recorded an application timestamp, failed to follow the published process, or improperly considered a conflict or provider relationship. Exhaustion of available funds is not, by itself, grounds for appeal.

This is an interim IAESDP program. Administration is expected to move to One World ESD Foundation once the Foundation is legally established, appropriately tax-exempt, operationally prepared, and funded.

This application includes three separate forms of economic-access support. The questions you see will depend on the type of support you select. Each request is reviewed under the requirements applicable to that program.

Economic-access information will be limited to authorized program, finance, appeal, legal, and compliance personnel. Credentialing evaluators and accreditation decision-makers will not ordinarily receive this information. IAESDP will not publicly identify an applicant or recipient without affirmative consent.
